The objective of the program is to prepare graduates with specific skills in the design of training programs that improve performance of a soccer player in accordance with latest trends in modern soccer research and practice. Simultaneously, it provides all necessary knowledge regarding the design of exercise interventions which prevent injuries in soccer.
There are laboratory, soccer field seminars and classroom-based activities as well as some activities are delivered by distance.
In each semester, students attend: one (1) four-day course, two (2) three-day intesive courses of which two (2) are delivered at the Department’s campus at Serres and the third one is delivered at the premises of PAOK FC club. There are also three lectures by distance learning

Distance learning
Approximately 30% of the courses are delivered by distance using the e-learning university platform as follows:
1. Wesdensday 20.15
2. Thursday 20.15
3. Saturday 15.00
Asessment includes written and oral exams, essays or any combination between those methods. The assessment grade is between zero (0) and ten (10) where six (6) is pass.
The degree is awarded after sucessful completion of all modules (90 ECTS).
The fees are 2.450,00€ for the whole program and they are paid at the beginning of each academic semester. According to law, up to 30% of the students who apply to the program and meet certain criteria (low income) can apply for a fee waiver.
A total of thirty students are accepted in the program.
Potential students can be graduates of Departments of Physical Education and Sport Sciences (80%) and graduates from other scientific disciplines (Medicine, Physiotherapy) which are relevant to the program content (20%).
